Letter from the President
The Belleville Chamber of Commerce is 60 members strong and currently very busy planning several events. For any business or community member interested in still joining, it is still possible.
Don't forget! Every third Saturday in Belleville you can find special deals at participating businesses. Participating businesses and their respective specials can be found 24/7 on our website.
NEW MEETING LOCATION: Belle-Bleu Restaurant on Main St. Meeting time will continue to be noon on the first Tuesday of each month.
In addition, the chamber has been organizing Bastille Day, which will be held on July 18. Updates on that event include a strong line up of country music beginning about 5 p.m. in Library Park that will include the Francois Family Band, Jug Prairie, and headliners Eric Brace and Peter Cooper from Nashville. We will also be working with the Green County Humane Society to have "Pets in the Park" during Bastille Day which will be an event centered around the original meaning of Bastille Day as an Independence Day for the French. This will be an opportunity for people to liberate and adopt pets from the humane society in Library Park. I also have an update on the talent show to be held during Bastille Day. The talent show will be divided into the following categories: Singing, Dancing, Comedy, Magical, Instrumental, and Drama. The talent show will be open to all ages from elementary through high school and more information will be coming home with students through the school. Interested volunteers or questions may be directed to the following individuals:
- Quilt Show - Lynn Alme 424-1516
- Beer/Food - Dave Ace or Jodi Gerner 424-6882 or 444-1350
- Talent Contest - Regina Moyer 424-3346
- Wine & Cheese Tasting - AnnaMaria Bliven 567-9645

Belleville Main Street Facade Improvement Program
The Belleville Facade Improvement Grant Program is operated and funded by the CDA and it is now
available to assist any interested property owner. The program provides 50% matching grants to
existing commercial buildings for preservation, restoration & maintenance. Changes should
reinforce the historic character of the district, especially by restoring original historic structures and
architectural details. Buildings are eligible for grant funding only once per calendar year. And each
building is eligible for a maximum funding of up to $5,000 per calendar year. See the enclosed
application forms for more details. These funds do not have to be repaid. Eligible applicants must
adhere to the Belleville Downtown Design Standards.
