The Upper Sugar River Watershed Association is pleased to announce its annual meeting and open house.

When: Sunday, February 21, 2010, 1-4 p.m.

Where: Festival room of Epic Systems in Verona WI.

Attendees are encouraged to arrive at 1PM to socialize, enjoy refreshments, and sign up for or renew a membership. There are 3 scheduled speakers for the day, with the first talk beginning at 2 pm. Each Talk is expected to last approximately 20 minutes. The speakers include:

• Jim Amrhein of the WI DNR, who will be discussing fish populations and water quality of Badger Mill Creek.
• Dave Marshall of Underwater Habitat Investigations. He will speak about surveying fish populations in unique floodplain habitats.
• Jeff Hruby of Montgomery Associates. Resource Solutions will provide a summary and status update of the Lake Belle View restoration project.

The USRWA will also present its annual Candle on the Water award. The award is presented annually to an outstanding volunteer whose positive impact in the watershed is immeasurable.

About the Belleville Chamber of Commerce

The Belleville Chamber of Commerce is an organization of seventy-two local businesses which meets on a regular basis to promote a positive business climate and to organize and facilitate popular events for the community.

Two of our most popular events include the Belleville American Music Festival and UFO Day. The American Music Festival is held annually at Lake Belleview and features world renowned blues artists during the two day event. UFO Day is a fun filled family oriented day which includes a parade, haunted trails, craft show, kids games and many special events provided by local businesses.

We are excited when new members join the organization because it helps expand the networking potential and pumps new ideas for the future of the Chamber of Commerce. Belleville Main Street Facade Improvement Program

The Belleville Facade Improvement Grant Program is operated and funded by the CDA and it is now available to assist any interested property owner. The program provides 50% matching grants to existing commercial buildings for preservation, restoration & maintenance. Changes should reinforce the historic character of the district, especially by restoring original historic structures and architectural details. Buildings are eligible for grant funding only once per calendar year. And each building is eligible for a maximum funding of up to $5,000 per calendar year. See the enclosed application forms for more details. These funds do not have to be repaid. Eligible applicants must adhere to the Belleville Downtown Design Standards.
